Legislators, Minister disagree on CDF

Proceedings in the National Assembly in Lilongwe was disrupted twice following disagreements between members of Parliament (MPs) and Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development Goodall Gondwe over issues relating to the Constituency Development Fund (CDF),

MPs’ salary increment, the K50 billion budget cut and borehole fund, among others.

The minister is said to have refused to sign an agreement on the issues, saying the matter has legal implications; hence, he needed to consult.

The legislators refused to grant media interviews on the issue.
