Bunda bites hard, 1 year suspension for demos

Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) Bunda Campus has suspended 13 students for their role in the demostrations that took place on the night of 12 December 2017.

The 13 students have been given 1 year suspensions meaning they will miss one full academic year. Some students have been given warnings while others have not been found guilty.

The students were protesting frequent blackouts that have become a norm in the country and it only got worse when power went off for 3 days at the campus.

There was commotion at the campus when the police were called in to querry the situation and this read to property being destroyed during the demos forcing college management to close down the institution indefinitely on 13 December 2017.
