The High Court in Blantyre is hearing defence from a former Catholic Father Thomas Muhosha who was found with a case to answer in the murder of MacDonald Masambuka a boy with albinism.

Muhosha has denied taking part in the murder of Masambuka.

However, Muhosha has implicated a police officer, Chikondi Chileka, who is the 8th accused person of having more knowledge on the murder of Masambuka.

Father Muhosha told the court that he was not involved in the sale of albino bones despite the police officer enticing him to do so.

However, the hearing became tense, when Trouble Kalua lawyer for one of the suspects Alfred Yohane cross examined Muhosha on the printed WhatsApp conversation between Muhosha and the police officer.

In his response to Kalua’s question, on the type of business he was transacting with the police officer, the catholic priest told the court that he was involved in illegal mining.

He later thanked government for forgiving all illegal miners in June 2018.
