Fisherman dies in lake malawi after a sleep, “deceased relatives set ablaze owner boats.

Mangochi, Makanjira.

Police report shows that, Mr Isaac Kamtendi and the victim Mavuto Phiri aged 20 years of Mgolodzera village TA Namkumba were among ten (10)people who went on Lake Malawi through Mtola fishing beach to fish.The boat belongs to Mr Kelphas Mhone,DOB 18/11/1990,vge Mvunguti,T/A Nankumba, Mangochi.

Whilst on the lake, they slept.

They slept in the same boat and in the midst of their slumber, the victim slipped into the waters.

Efforts were made to rescue the victim by throwing a rope into the waters so that the victim should grab the rope but failed because his hands were inserted inside his shirt as he was feeling cold hence render him vulnerable to grab the rope and immediately he drowned.

Eventually, disgruntled people believing that the incident happened in a magic.

Relative to the deceased then destroyed and burned the following properties:(1)Enduro 15 horsepower engine valued at K2,200,000.00;(2)2 Fishing nets valued at K1,700,000.00;(3)4 Fishing boats value at K5,200,000.00.

Total value of properties damaged after the incident exceeds K9,100,000.00.No arrest made. Meanwhile search is under way to recover the drowned person and perhaps establish the real cause of his death.
