Faced with numerous calls to resign over her handling of may 21 malawi tripartite elections Justice Jane Ansah came out into public appearance and attended the conference.

There was heavy police presence at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre where the 21st Annual General Conference of the Electoral Commissions for SADC Countries (ECF-SADC) was officially inaugurated by Vice President Everton Chimulirenji.

Police agencies from PMS and general duties manned all gates at the hotel where the conference is taking place.

The Conference is being held under the theme ” Enhancing Credibility of Elections through observation”

Justice Ansah avoided commenting on the past May 21 election impasse rocking the country.

Ansah said election management bodies hold the key for continued peace and coexistence in the region.

The conference has delegates from electoral bodies of 16 SADC Countries.
