Tanzanian arrested for possessing and selling dangerous drugs in Blantyre.

Limbe Police Station has arrested a Tanzanian national for allegedly possessing dangerous drugs.

The suspect, Boniphace Ng’weng’weta Shija Mhangwa 40 was arrested on Sunday, 1 December 2019.

He was busted at his residence at Nyambadwe in Blantyre.

Limbe Police detectives got tipped that the suspect was offering the drugs for sale at his house.

The detectives, alongside their Bangwe counterparts, moved in and seized psychoactive cocaine, weighing about 400grams, and ephedrine liquid approximately 10 millitres.

The suspect was apprehended and the said illicit drugs were immediately confiscated.

He has been charged with a case of being found in possession of dangerous drugs and has since been remanded to Chichiri Prison.

Meanwhile, arrangements are in order to take the exhibits to Pharmacy Medicines and Poisons Board laboratory for analysis and identification.

Police strongly warn those involved in the act that they will face the long arm of the law.

In the same vein, the law enforcers are urging the citizenry to continue providing them fruitful information in a quest to win the battle against drug crime.

Ng’weng’weta is from Sengerema area in the capital Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
