Malawi police minister fail to mention location of 200 police houses constructed out of 10,000 as Rwanda Police builds 30 homes for poor families and solar power to 3,000 rural homes.

Rwanda Police is building 30 homes for poor families, providing solar power to 3,000 rural homes and constructing 6 head offices for crime free villages.

The police are also providing health insurance for 3,000 families.

All these are part of Rwanda’s Police Month Outreach activities.

In malawi homeland Security Minister Nicholas Dausi claims Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government has constructed 200 houses for police officers out of the 10, 000 houses it promised in its 2014 manifesto.

But could not give more details were the 200 house are build.

The minister said this in parliament in his response to a supplementary question from Member of Parliament for Dowa East Richard Chimwendo Banda who wanted the minister to update the house on construction of 10 thousand dwelling houses for Police, Malawi Defense Force, Prison and Immigration officers.

He said government will continue with construction of the remaining 9, 800 houses once funds are available.
